Created through a unique underprint technique where ink drops through the top layer of hand woodblock printing over 8 to 12 printings across a month, the aged cotton front reveals unexpected patterns and soft, layered colour - each one entirely unrepeatable. This piece carries the Spring Meadow pattern: a luminous, impressionistic ground of soft blush pink, dusty rose, periwinkle blue, sage green, and pale lavender blooming together in an all-over watercolour wash - like a meadow in full flower seen through soft morning light. Small red floral motifs are scattered across the surface, punctuating the softness with moments of vivid colour. At the join edge, a distinctive border of red dotted grid lines and blue check stripes runs the length of the cloth, a ghost of earlier printings that adds structure and surprise. A limited edition of two; no two are the same.
The reverse is crafted in a deep moss linen-cotton blend, the kantha running stitch visible on both sides - rows of hand-worked thread stitching the layers together across the full surface, giving the quilt its characteristic softness and drape. A bright lime-green blanket stitch frames the edge with a vivid, considered finish.
