Full Kantha Dohar Quilt - Cerise Indigo Blooms / Blue Iris - One of a Kind

Created through a unique underprint technique where ink drops through the top layer of hand woodblock printing over 8 to 12 printings across a month, the aged cotton front reveals unexpected patterns and soft, layered colour - each one entirely unrepeatable. This piece carries the Cerise Indigo Blooms pattern: a dense, nocturnal ground of deep navy and near-black with vivid cerise-red, coral, and warm rust florals blazing through the darkness - bold, complex, and alive with accumulated depth. Scattered green leaf details drift through the layers, and the surface holds the ghost of countless earlier printings beneath. At the edge, the cloth lightens to a soft blush-cream ground with a delicate abstract floral scatter in pink and sage green - a quiet border that frames the drama of the front. Only one exists.

The reverse is the plain Blue Iris linen-cotton blend - deep, inky, and smooth - a considered counterpoint to the layered complexity of the front. The kantha running stitch is visible on both sides, binding the layers together across the full surface. A fine blue-grey blanket stitch frames the edge. At full quilt size, this piece has the presence of a work of art.
