Full Kantha Dohar Quilt - Jaipur Sunset Floral / Carnelian | One of a Kind

Worked entirely by hand, this quilt is stitched through two layers using rows of running stitch drawn across the full surface - the defining mark of the kantha tradition. The front is an upcycled underprint in Jaipur sunset floral - a dusty rose and blush pink ground printed with a fine all-over botanical stamp in muted teal, grey-green and navy, the delicate floral motifs layered across the surface through 8 to 12 rounds of hand woodblock printing across a month of production. Where the layers thin, the warm pink ground glows through; where they build, the teal deepens to near-navy. A narrow border strip of light teal and mint runs the full length of each long edge. No two printings land the same way twice; this piece is entirely unrepeatable. Edition of one. The edges are finished with a fine hand blanket stitch in carnelian thread - small, precise, and quietly present.

The reverse is a wide-width carnelian linen-cotton blend - a deep, luminous burnt orange, rich as the semi-precious stone - with the kantha running stitch visible on both sides, tracing the same quiet rhythm across the cloth.
