Full Kantha Dohar Quilt - Emerald Meadow / Blue Iris - One of a Kind

Created through a unique underprint technique where ink drops through the top layer of hand woodblock printing over 8 to 12 printings across a month, the aged cotton front reveals unexpected patterns and soft, layered colour - each one entirely unrepeatable. This piece carries the Emerald Meadow pattern: a dense, immersive ground of deep forest green and olive, with earthy terracotta and rust bleeding through in abstract drifts - painterly, atmospheric, and entirely without repetition. Up close, the surface shifts and deepens; from a distance, it reads like a landscape seen from above. Only one exists.

Because the underprint shifts in tone and density from one end of the cloth to the other, the two lengths joined to make the full width read as two distinct halves - one deeper and more saturated, the other lighter and more open. No two sides are ever the same. A narrow terracotta border strip runs the down the sides, and a navy blanket stitch frames the edge with a clean, grounded finish.

The reverse is crafted in a Blue Iris linen-cotton blend, the kantha running stitch visible on both sides - rows of hand-worked thread stitching the layers together across the full surface, giving the quilt its characteristic softness and drape.
