This is a one-of-a-kind piece. Where ink drops through the top layer of hand woodblock printing over 8 to 12 printings across a month, the aged cotton beneath reveals the Emerald Veil 1 pattern - a pale cream-white ground with bold, loose emerald and forest green ink-wash forms drifting across the upper half like a jali lattice screen dissolving in rain, gauzy and translucent at the edges. On the right, a bold mass of vivid cerise-red holds intricate dark outlined floral scroll motifs - classical, almost chinoiserie - in sharp contrast to the veiled green above. Fine horizontal stripe lines run through the centre-left, and scattered small pink and red floral marks drift throughout. Veil versus statement. Each is entirely unrepeatable.

The Moss Green linen-cotton backing echoes the emerald tones of the veil, grounding the cerise and cream of the front with a deep, botanical richness. A 1cm flat flange frames the cover, finished with quiet precision.
