This is a one-of-a-kind piece. Where ink drops through the top layer of hand woodblock printing over 8 to 12 printings across a month, the aged cotton beneath reveals the Copper Storm pattern - a pale, luminous cream-white ground in the upper half, scattered with paint-splash marks in teal, red, pink and grey drifting like weather across a bleached sky. Below, dense vertical columns of warm copper-bronze, olive, burgundy and slate blue rise from the lower half like ancient ruins or standing stones emerging from mist. A vivid orange-red flare ignites the bottom right corner. Atmospheric, painterly and entirely unrepeatable - like a storm gathering over copper columns at dusk.

The Blue Iris linen-cotton backing echoes the slate blue and teal of the upper ground, grounding the warm copper tones of the front with a deep, considered calm. A 1cm flat flange frames the cover, finished with quiet precision.
