Limited edition of 3 - each one slightly different, none repeated. Part of the Copper Rain series. Where ink drops through the top layer of hand woodblock printing over 8 to 12 printings across a month, the aged cotton beneath reveals the Copper Rain pattern - a warm amber-gold and copper ground scattered all over with bold, expressive navy-blue and dark olive botanical forms. Spiky, gestural, alive - like thistle heads or sea anemones caught mid-movement, scattered across a sun-warmed field. Each in the edition carries the same spirit but its own unique arrangement of marks and tones. Each is entirely unrepeatable.
The Blue Iris linen-cotton backing provides a deep, cool counterpoint to the warm copper and amber of the front - the navy of the botanical marks echoed in the deep denim of the reverse. A 1cm flat flange frames the cover on all four edges.
