Vast sweeping washes of steel-blue and slate flood the left and centre; a bold deep burgundy-wine wash takes the right; warm amber-gold and teal-green swirl through the middle where the two worlds collide. Ghosted red floral and botanical motifs drift through the upper portion - traces of former prints rising through the surface. In the lower left, a pale cream and white diagonal stripe pattern shows beneath it all, a quiet structural counterpoint to the colour storm above. Every layer of the underprint process is visible and alive.
